PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Alfonso Vargas has represented domestic and international lenders in structuring and restructuring credit facilities for Mexican public and private entities. He has also advised financial institutions and fund managers in fundraising, acquisitions and financings in the real estate sector. He has represented developers in the acquisition, development, financing and divestment of real estate assets in all vertical markets of the industry.

RELEVANT TRANSACTIONS
- Represented PGIM Real Estate, PRUMEX Industrial III Trust in the hiring of a simple loan with Banamex and Bancomext, for an amount of USD$175 million, for the payment of certain existing credits and corporate purposes in general. Likewise, as part of the guarantees of said Credit, 26 industrial warehouses owned by PRUMEX Industrial III were contributed to a guarantee trust.
- Represented Walton Street and Copri in their joint venture for the acquisition of land and the development of a high-end housing complex, in the area known as “Parque la Mexicana which benefits approximately 150 thousand people.
- Represented Banamex in the granting of simple credit to Planigrupo Latam (through certain project trusts), for an amount of MXN$27 million for the payment of up to 80% of the VAT actually paid in the acquisition of two shopping centers in Jalisco, Mexico.
- Represented SabCapital in connection to the granting of a simple loan to Grupo Hotelero Santa Fe, for an amount of USD$28 million, for the payment of the necessary amount, substitution of investments. As part of the guarantees of said Credit, the creditor made a mortgage in the first place on the Hotel Krystal Grand Vallarta, and a pledge without transfer of possession on all assets related to said property.
- Represented PGIM Real Estate México, Investment Trust in Industrial Real Estate (FIBRA) Terrafina, in the acquisition of an industrial portfolio of Industrial Parks Intermex, consisting of 49 properties located in different states of the Mexican Republic (Nuevo León, Chihuahua, Jalisco, Sonora, Guanajuato, Durango, and Tamaulipas), in the amount of USD$431 million.
- Represented Mota Engil in the development of a high-end real estate development in Riviera Nayarit called “Costa Canuva".
- Represented AGC Glass Company North America, through its affiliate in Mexico- AGC Automotive México, in the acquisition from Desarrollo Logistik of two plots of land located within the Parque Industrial Logistik II in San Luis Potosí.
- Represented Credit Suisse (México) in its first real estate investment in Mexico for MXN$450 million Mexplorer Ventura Real Estate Investment Fund, a Canadian fund focused on the construction and development of commercial and residential real estate projects.
- Represented Nexxus Capital in the MXN$1,000 million mezzanine financing granted to Grupo ZKC to operate, acquire and develop real estate portfolios of commercial and mixed used in Mexico City.
- Served as council to Casas GEO and 16 of its subsidiaries, in the largest ever insolvency procedure in Mexico. At play are 18 billion dollars of claims and counterclaims and almost 12,000 creditors.
