  • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
    Javier Camacho has more than 8 years of experience advising national and international clients in matters mainly related to environmental impact and risk, national waters use, wastewater discharge, air emissions, climate change, waste management and circular economy, forestland use and wildlife, as well as in ESG matters.

    His experience includes legal analysis and consulting, as well as administrative litigation and counselling in administrative proceedings at local and federal level. Additionally, he has participated in multiple investment projects and M&A transactions, accompanying clients in identifying and addressing key environmental risks and issues.
  • RELEVANT TRANSACTIONS
    • Represented a major steelworks operation in Mexico in handling industry-specific wastes, providing a legal strategy that aided in the sustainable management of the wastes while covering all fronts of environmental compliance.
    • Represented a leading healthcare company in the regularization of the environmental aspects of a facility near the Mexican East coast, particularly those related to environmental impact, requiring relevant lobbying efforts with various local and federal authorities.
    • Represented one of the largest automotive manufacturers worldwide, and with a strong presence in Mexico, throughout the development of a new state-of-the-art facility that would serve as headquarters and innovation hub, particularly regarding the specific water needs for the facility.
    • Represented a large hydrocarbons company in an administrative trial against the National Waters Commission on the largest water rights determination matter in Mexico.
    • Participated in the acquisition of one of the largest candy businesses in Mexico.
    • Represented one of the largest technology companies in the US and Mexico, in the implementation of an ink cartridge recovery and recycling strategy, including transboundary movements and the involvement of several environmental and trade authorities.
    • Represented a leading rum producer worldwide, in the acquisition of one of the largest tequila manufacturing and distribution operations in Mexico.
